Ten local small businesses were recently recognised by the Rotary Club of Warragul for demonstrating outstanding qualities in their operation. Representatives from each of the business received an award certificate at a presentation dinner held at The Black Tie restaurant.

Businesses receiving the award were Chris Urie Carpentry, Countrywide Curtains and Blinds, Cup & Gino Coffee Shop, Need 2 Read, RNS Guitars and Ukuleles, SEEN Agency, Warragul Exhaust Centre, Warragul Forest and Garden, Warragul Marine, and Warragul Washing Machine Service.

This is the first year of the award system and is the opportunity for local businesses with up to ten staff to demonstrate a commitment to their chosen vocation. The award is intended to consider the many aspects of operating a small business including customer service, quality of product or service, ethics, initiative, attitude, sense of responsibility and contribution to the local community.

The awards were presented by Mark Schramm, Acting CEO of the Victorian Small Business Commission which has recently conducted a series of breakfasts and information booths in the Latrobe Valley.
