A re-enactment of the Rotary Club of Warragul charter presentation was a highlight of the club’s recent 80th birthday celebration dinner. The dinner was an opportunity for a reunion of past and present members, past club presidents and friends of Rotary.

Past club president Chris Major was the master of ceremonies for the evening which included photographic and video memorabilia and speeches highlighting the club’s varied achievements both in the local community and a number of overseas projects in Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands.

Current District Governor Janne Spiers assisted with cutting the 80th birthday cake congratulating the club on reaching this milestone event. “The aspirations of the original founding Rotarians had been well and truly achieved resulting in substantial contributions to humanitarian projects locally and internationally that have created lasting change for the better”.

Past club Pesident and past District Governor Dennis Heslin said there had been over 400 members of the Rotary Club but a few members stood out including the late Wally Christie and the late Graeme Snape. “The spirit of this club is something to be envied throughput the Rotary community”.
